OFS Office Furniture, Specified on Merit

Private office, conference, lounge and tables. How Commercial Office Interiors (COI) uses OFS on open-line projects across New Hampshire and Greater Boston, and which brands it is bid against on the same brief.

What OFS Makes

OFS is a family-owned manufacturer in southern Indiana that makes the furniture a visitor actually sees: private offices, boardroom tables, reception and the lounge off the lobby. The casegoods lines, Staks and Eleven among them, are built in wood, veneer and laminate in the same plant, so a project can hold one finish palette from the executive floor through the open plan.

COI specifies OFS when the brief has a design standard to meet and a budget that still has to close. OFS sits between the mid-market laminate brands and the premium names on price, and its lead times for standard finishes are usually shorter than the large systems brands. On a bid against a Steelcase or MillerKnoll private-office package, OFS is often the line that brings the same look in at the professional tier instead of the premium one.

The lounge and collaboration pieces, including the Heya and Rowen families, are the other reason OFS shows up in COI proposals. Hybrid floors need more small settings and fewer assigned desks, and OFS covers that territory with soft seating, screens and tables that come from one supplier with one warranty and one install crew. That matters on a punch list: three vendors in one lounge is three sets of touch-up paint.

OFS also publishes a Genus task chair and guest seating, so a private-office package can ship complete. COI still prices the task chair separately on every bid, because a chair is where a standard should be set for the whole building rather than per room.

Why OFS Is Priced Beside the Field

COI carries the project, not one manufacturer. Every workstation, private-office and task-chair typical goes to several brands and comes back on one proposal with prices, lead times, warranties and finishes side by side. Across five New England projects in 2026 the gap between a single-brand bid and the COI open-line bid on the same scope averaged 32 percent.

About Brands and Authorization

Is COI an authorized dealer for these brands?

COI is an open-line dealer and specifies from 100+ manufacturers. Authorization, territory, warranty routing and the quotation path are confirmed in writing for the exact brand and product on each project, and nothing on these pages should be read as a standing authorization claim for a given line. COI is the Artopex dealer for New Hampshire and one of 10 RESEAT dealers in the U.S.

How does COI choose between brands on a project?

By bidding the same specification across several of them. A workstation typical, a private-office typical and a task-chair standard each go out to three or more manufacturers, and the proposal shows the prices, lead times, warranties and finishes side by side. The brief decides, not a dealer contract.

Can COI mix brands in one office?

Yes, and most COI projects do. A typical floor pairs one manufacturer for workstations, another for private offices, a third for task seating and a fourth for the lounge, each chosen on merit for that room type. COI coordinates the finish palette, the schedule and the installation so the floor reads as one project.

Do you carry Steelcase, MillerKnoll or Haworth?

Those brands sell through contracted major-line dealers, so COI does not carry them. When a client has a quote from one of them, COI prices an equivalent open-line specification against it line by line. Across five New England projects in 2026 the average gap was 32 percent on the same scope.
